Sweet Reminiscense
By Michael Babatunde
I've missed those days,
those good milky days, when people wonder the way
as kids, we question and things we say.
gone where those days of momma's pamperings,
days we wry others with our screaming,
days of being so tiny,
i recall those days and cant help but keep smiling.
the days of the off-key harmony,
in the nursery rhymes.
the days of innocence,
when all we did was nonsense.
bring back those days,
maybe we can still make hay,
make up for our mistakes,
and in this new age have better stakes.
missed those days of momma's numerous spankings,
for havoc done to household items.
the days of myths held real,
even Nigeria's 99-1 defeat to India.
those day of waiting for the appearance and disappearance of the moon,
listening tenderly to moonlight tales.
the days i played hero,
trying to emulate characters from home videos.
the days of catching fun,
even from others' painful moments,
those days are gone.
