MY SIDE OF THE STORY
I called the contact phone number which was on the advert page for the Miss Nollywood 2015 / 2016 after filling the online form and making the bank registration payment. Mr Barakumo Odede who picked the call asked me to order for tickets which I will sell like other contestants which is a criteria to be a potential winner of the pageant. I then sold tickets worth #40,000 which I gave to Mr Barakumo. One night during camping, Mr Barakumo told us all that he will interview us but it will be privately done in his room. We went in one after the other. I went in when it was my turn and MR Barakumo was behaving very funny that made me very uncomfortable in that room. Amongst other things, he asked me if I had a boyfriend, and I said yes, and he said that Queens don't have boyfriends but rich men pays for it. I left the room angrily and upset, I later found out that he asked other contestants for sex too during the one-on-one interview sessions. On one faithful night again, Mr Bara sent me a text to meet him at the corridor, which I did.

But he was not there, then I called him and he asked me to open the next room’s door, when I did, I saw him sitting on a chair with a worried look, "Boss, are you OK? I asked him and he replied “Yes, but I am tired and I need lovemaking from you". I reminded him of my boyfriend. This word got him angry and he then told me that other contestants were begging for it while he is giving it to me for free and I'm rejecting his offer. He pulled off his clothes and tried to get me down then I slapped him, struggled to get away from him and ran to my room immediately. He later sent me a text that he was sorry that he don’t know what came over him and pleaded that I shouldn't tell anyone about it.

On the grand finale, 27th December, 2015 after we have been declared winners, we were surprised to learn that crowns were borrowed from Miss Bayelsa pageant to crown us and immediately after our group photographs, the crowns were returned back to the organizers of the Miss Bayelsa pageant whose pageant was being held same day at a different venue. All the regional Queens were not crowned as a result of this. We were given just flowers and sashes. There was no rules, there was no contract agreement for us to sign, no constitution was read to us, no certificate was given neither did we see the 1million naira star prize for the winners as promised by Bara as he is popularly called. The next day he told us to dress very good and come downstairs to the pool side, when we got there, he introduced us to a man who we latter found out was a politician. That was when it dawned on us that Bara is upto something different, we latter went back to our rooms talking about what just happened. The next morning, Mr Bara asked for N5, 000.00, I told him that I don't have any cash on me so he begged and took my ATM card to withdraw the money. I was so shocked to receive an alert an N45, 000.00 debits out of the N50,000.00 that was in the account. He withdrew all my money, the cash that I saved for my school fees and left just N5, 000.00. When I confronted him, he pleaded that the organization will pay me back the money later and that the hotel management had asked us to leave because he couldn’t pay the complete deposit for our accommodation and that I shouldn't sell the company’s secret out.
I was confused and wandered what a beauty pageant I got myself into where the organizer begs from his contestants for almost everything. The last of it was when he requested for one of my phones that owner of the one he was using just took it and there’s no way he can communicate anymore. I gave Bara my Techno T470 phone before we all left Bayelsa at the end.
After our crowning, Mr Barakumo told me to work very hard that by the first 3 months into our reign, the agency will give me all my benefits. With this, I worked diligently.
I am so proud to say that I did very well with the help of my parents no money was given to me by him. Instead I gave Mr Barakumo N15, 000.00 to design two awards plaques which I'll be presenting to the King of my Community and the leader of our traditional ruling council when I paid them courtesy visit respectively.
I have always carried him along in all I do yet he keeps pestering me for money and recharge cards. I called when I wanted to unveil my pet project(the Hope Support Initiative Foundation) and he said he was very proud and happy for me. He even suggested to do all my designs and printing in Bayelsa State, saying that it is cheaper there. I sent him the money he requested for the printing and also specially invited him to the launching of my foundation, with all his expenses on me.( Transport, accommodation, feeding and miscellaneous). He pledged to donate N700, 000.00 (it is on the video tape)Bara asked me to date him I refused.
The day I asked him of my certificate as (Miss Nollywood Culture and Tourism) Mr Barakumo got so furious and threatened to dethrone me if I ever ask for the certificate again. That was when I knew he was up to something sinister.
Mr Robynz who was aware of the “Bara Saga” approached Mr. Bara and advised to settle all these issues that is responsible for the biff he is having with his queens, from the certificate to the N1million winning prize, Mr Bara took it as an unfriendly gesture, he called him a betrayal for taking sides with 'his Queens'. Mr Robynz told him that its so sad to see him defraud us. Mr Barakumo told him that it was the duty of our boyfriends or sugar daddies to buy the cars for us then he will claim that he gave us the cars after branding them, saying that this is how it is done. I now understood why he told us in camp never to have boyfriends but rather should date men whom he believes can get us the cars. So, we should go out and sell our bodies for money and that the organization has nothing to give us and that he has given us a platform for us to sell our selves.
The attitude of Mr. Bara trying to frustrate our efforts and all that we have worked for gave Robynz an opportunity to manage my foundation.

The last straw that broke the camel's back was when I was invited for a children's day party by the wife of KOLGA chiarman and I sent Bara a text to inform him because I don't want to have issues with him but he didn't reply. Then surprisingly, on the 25th night he sent me a text message asking me to suspend my trip to Bayelsa and to cancel the children's day celebration appointment, he said that I'm making the money and sharing it with Mr Robynz and that he will make sure he disgrace and dethrone me if I dare him and that I want to do what the immediate past Miss Nollywood Nigeria 2014(Queen Gwen)did and that he won’t let it happen again.
I went to Bayelsa on Thursday 26th May, 2016 with my mum, I went for a courtesy visit to the General Manager of Niger Delta Television. Immediately Mr Barakumo saw the interview on the news he became furious and told me that I want to become popular and famous like the immediate past Miss Nollywood Nigeria and that I am rude consequently, he will dethrone me.
Mr. Bara was more furious after he saw my post on facebook about the success story of the Children’s day celebration at KOLGA, Bayelsa State. That’s how he concluded to fabricate all the lies he published and that he has dethroned me. He immediately sent me all the links and blog addresses that he has published it.

THIS IS MY SIDE OF THE STORY
I HAVE SOME POSERS FOR MR BARAKUMO ODEDE.
* Since the primary objective of pageantry all over the world is charity, why then is he against my charity works and rather encouraging me to go into prostitution? We can verify by his resolve to delete all the charity works of the past Beauty Queens from the Facebook official page and website respectively, leaving a few and normal photos and newspaper publications.

* Why is he always demanding for the proceeds from his Queen's courtesy visits?
* He should come out to publish the contract documents, memorandum of understanding (MOU) with my signature stating the said rules and regulations he claimed I infringed.
* If truly he gave the winners their prizes, he should publish the prizes with photos of all 'his Queens' both past and present.

* Why did he choose to sell forms for 2017 edition barely 4 months after crowning 'his Queens' for the 2016 edition?
* Unlike the first edition of the pageant, that produced the pioneer Queen (Queen Gwen) he should come out to show evidences of auditions for 2016 contestants which I am part of.
HE SHOULD COME OUT TO REFUTE ALL I HAVE SAID ABOVE WITH EVIDENCES.
If he thinks he wants to disgrace me and drag my name to the mud, he has inadvertently succeeded in disgracing and dragging himself to the mud where he belongs, this can be seen vividly by his grammatical "bombing", which clearly reflect his personality and level of reasoning.

Mr. Ebarakumo Odede Solomon and the Miss Nollywood Foundation(MNF)will give an answer in the law court for deformation of character, and be prepared to come out to defend their 'claims' with evidences of all the contractual documents that I signed or retract your malicious publication about me within 24 hours with an unreserved apology which shall be published in five (5) national newspapers alongside all the blogs that published your malicious story.
Below are some photos of my charity works and courtesy visits since I was crowned.
Below are also some screen shots of our conversation for your confirmation of his personality.

Pipeline Vandals Battle With Police In Elebute, Ogun

Residents of Elebute community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, yesterday, fled their homes to avoid being caught in the crossfire as policemen and pipeline vandals clashed. Vanguard gathered that the vandals engaged policemen and other security agents in a shootout that lasted over an hour at the early hours of yesterday, in an attempt to rescue two of their colleagues that were arrested.

It was reported that they also attempted to deflate the tyres of the Police Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, but their attempt was frustrated. However, some police vans were destroyed though no life was lost. At noon yesterday, three APCs were seen stationed at Ibafo junction with over 50 heavily-armed security personnel, comprising police, soldiers, and National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, patrolling the area.

A resident, who came back to pick some of his belongings, told journalists: “Some oil vandals invaded the community two nights ago to attack oil pipelines, when security operatives swooped on them. “This resulted in a gun battle that lasted over four hours. We all laid on the floor. The shooting, which continued the next day forced everyone to remain indoors. We have to vacate our homes so as not to be hit by stray bullets.”

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali, said two suspected vandals had been arrested following the attack. He said: “We arrested two of the notorious pipeline vandals and before we knew it, the vandals opened fire on our APC. They destroyed our vehicles. I can assure you that we are out for them. “We are no longer going to tolerate their impunity. We are holding two of the kingpins and we would go out for more. They should leave our national assets alone or face the wrath of the command.”

Biya's Car Breaks Down At National Day Celebration

It was a national embarrassment after the open top vintage limousine transporting Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, broke down during the 44th Anniversary of Cameroon’s National Day on 20th May, 2016 (yesterday). Few minutes after the car broke down, soldiers of the Presidential Guard were spotted pushing the car away. President Biya had to change the vehicle on the spot.

Barber Drinks To Death In Lagos Over N10,000

Thursday, May 12, 2016, started like any other day for Prosper Oyinfade, a 34-year-old native of Abeokuta, Ogun State. A professional barber and part-time bodyguard at social events and major night clubs within the Lagos metropolis, the young man worked tirelessly to support his small family – a wife and two sons. Waking up very early each morning in search of ‘bread’ for the entire household, the Abeokuta native barely enjoys maximum sleep as a result of his workaholic nature. The upkeep and survival of his family occupied a prime position on his mind.

Oyinfade had headed for the gym that fateful morning to refresh his muscles and keep fit ahead of a job the next day at an annual show in the Ikosi area of Ketu, a suburb within the metropolis. He remained at the gym with fellow ‘bouncers’ till late in the afternoon when he went home to relax before later heading for his salon to attend to customers and supervise his apprentice, Emmanuel, who had been there all alone. This was only four days after he had resolved a protracted personal issue with his wife. The couple had been temporarily separated for some time after losing their accommodation owing to financial difficulties. The lady and their two children had been living with her mother at the Ibafo area of Ogun State for some time as a result while the 34-year-old managed with a friend at the Mile 12 area of Lagos. So, making peace with his wife and best friend of many years earlier that week left Oyinfade extremely happy. Apart from dancing vigorously in front of his salon that Thursday evening, the Ogun native treated himself to a bottle of a popular alcoholic mixture. It was compensation for all the emotional pains he had passed through while the crisis lasted. But just when the ‘groove’ was garnering momentum, tragedy struck. Life has not been the same for the entire household.

“Everything happened like a movie,” Emmanuel, Oyinfade’s apprentice, recalled during a chat with our correspondent earlier in the week. “My boss arrived shop that evening looking unusually happy, there was no reason to suspect that danger was lurking around the corner. He sent me to buy food for him before later asking me to go buy him a bottle of a particular alcoholic mixture at a nearby shop. He was alone in front of the shop and was dancing happily as he took the drink.

“Later, some of his friends joined in the celebration and in the process, one of them challenged him to a bet. He dared him to finish 10 bottles of the drink and that if he did that, he was going to reward him. My boss took up the challenge and for the next hour, I was sent to buy a new bottle of that drink almost every five minutes. The other guys were also drinking but my boss was on a different level. Before we knew what was happening, he had taken over five bottles. I was afraid but could do nothing to stop him. It was until he attempted to shake a friend that we realised the damage the drink had done to him,” the young apprentice said.

The heavily-built 34-year-old crashed to the ground three different times as he made moves to shake a friend. He had completely lost control of himself and could hardly stand without support. He was subsequently carried by the people around and laid on the floor inside the compound housing his salon. The huge volume of alcohol in his system had totally immobilised and grounded him. Left in the open, on bare floor till the following day, his defences had been dealt a crushing blow. He was in a precarious situation.

“When I arrived home that night, my elder sister told me that somebody was sleeping on the floor outside and that she didn’t know who it was,” Bimbo, a neighbour to Oyinfade, told Saturday PUNCH. “When I got close, I realised it was Prosper, he had vomited all over his face and body and was even inhaling the vomit. I ran out to get help and some of his friends came with me to wash his face with water and also change his sleeping position. One of them said that since he had vomited, he would feel better. I couldn’t sleep that night; I had to keep watch over him. At about 4:00am, I noticed that his breathing changed. We had to rush him to the hospital by dawn but he was rejected at the two places we took him to,” she said.

Confused and now under pressure, Oyinfade’s elder sibling, Taiwo, who had been called over to the area where he stayed and worked, together with few sympathisers hired a vehicle to take him to a government-owned hospital at the Ikorodu area of the city in a desperate attempt to save his life. At this point, his condition had degenerated so badly that only a miracle could keep him alive. Time was running out. The odds weren’t looking good.

“I was constantly communicating with Prosper’s elder brother since I didn’t accompany them to the hospital at Ikorodu,” Dotun, a colleague at the gym where the 34-year-old kept fit, told our correspondent. “Initially he told me that the doctors were attending to him and that everything would soon be fine. After about 30 minutes, I called back again and he gave the same report. Some of us at the gym felt relieved at that point, believing that he was getting better. But 30 minutes later, the man called back to break the news of his death to us. It was a huge shock to many of us.

“The body, after being rejected at the hospital’s mortuary in Ikorodu, was brought back to a church opposite his shop at Mile 12. As at 1:00pm, the corpse was still lying on the floor within the premises. The brother was confused; he didn’t know what to do. We had to contribute about N11, 000 for him to take the body to Abeokuta.

“Prosper was an easy-going person who usually attended a special service in church every Thursday evening. I cannot tell why he didn’t go on this particular day and instead engaged in a drinking bet. I don’t know why he had to end his life like this,” Dotun said.

Though, full of life and bubbling with plans for the future, Oyinfade perhaps had an inkling of the calamity that was about to befall him. Apart from acting unusually in the days leading to his death, close associates told Saturday PUNCH that more than a few things about him took a different dimension during the period. He became a completely different person at the time.

“That Thursday, just before the incident happened, Prosper, I was told, played music loudly in his shop and danced like he had never done before,” Dotun revealed. “Even three days before that time, some guys at the gym jokingly told him that he should pray for death to be far away from him. They even sang a sorrowful song for him and poured sand on his body. Nobody expected that three days later, what appeared like a joke would come to pass.

“In fact, some days before his death, his dressing suddenly changed. He began to look extra-ordinarily good and different, as if he knew he might never have the chance to do so. We are indeed pained by his death,” he said.

According to findings by our correspondent, Oyinfade and his friend had staked N10, 000 each for the bizarre bet that would later end his life. The victim is known to have engaged in other forms of crazy bets and so saw the latest one as nothing compared to obstacles he had conquered in the past. A bottle of the herbal beverage he took which costs N350 each, contains 43 per cent alcohol volume.

A medical doctor, Lanre Adedeji, says consuming excessive alcohol at a time, especially five bottles containing 43 per cent concentration each, is capable of not only damaging the liver and causing nervous breakdown, but also leading to heart attack resulting in death eventually.

But the young father of two putting the economic benefits above the harm the drinks could do to him, paid the ultimate price for engaging in such risky gamble. His death leaves the Oyinfade family burying another child after the loss of two others in the past. The household is now left with Taiwo and Idowu.

“Our mother is heartbroken by the news. She hasn’t stopped crying ever since she was told. The wound created by the loss of two of my siblings in the past had yet to be fully healed when death now took Prosper away as well. The entire family is indeed devastated by the incident,” Taiwo, the victim’s eldest surviving sibling, told our correspondent amid tears.

But shocking and crazy as it sounds, engaging in bizarre forms of bets such as downing huge volumes of alcohol, have become a rising trend across the country in recent times. While some players of such dangerous gambles have managed to escape with minimal damage, for the majority, such attempts have often ended in death, throwing their families and friends into an endless season of mourning.

In May 2015 for example, a security man, simply identified as Thompson, lost his life after drinking a bottle of a popular alcoholic drink after smoking five sticks of cigarettes in two minutes during a bet with a friend.

The incident, which happened in the Agege area of Lagos, left many shocked to their marrows. The victim’s competitor would have paid for everything he consumed if he had won the bet.

“I tried to stop him but he drank it in less than two minutes, smoked two sticks of cigarettes and decided to leave. His competitor called him back to smoke the remaining three. As soon as he finished the fifth stick, he became uncomfortable, staggering, sweating profusely and breathing heavily as he walked away. He vomited several times and later died at about 8:00pm in his room,” Earnest Joseph, a friend of the deceased, said.

Two months later in July 2015, a middle-aged man from Imo State identified as Chucks, died after consuming 20 sachets of an alcoholic drink in a N500 bet with a shop owner.

The deceased, said to be a barber, was married with a child and lived along Ngwa Road area of Aba, Abia State, at the time of the incident.

Similarly, in October 2015, a 25-year-old man, Ahmed Aderisekola, reportedly died in the Marina area of Lagos after consuming 16 bottles of a popular brand of dry gin during a bet with a friend. Whoever could consume the highest number was going to be handed a financial reward the two had agreed upon. In the race to clinch the prize, Aderisekola, determined and desperate, slumped and died shortly after emptying the 16th bottle. He had overstretched his resolve and staying power. Rather than clinch it, he paid the prize.

Interestingly, the phenomenon, disturbing as it is, is not limited to Nigeria – it is a trend that continues to record patronage in other parts of the world, too.

Psychologist, Festus Oniwonlu, explains that engaging in bizarre and dangerous forms of betting could have dire consequences for the mental and general well being of a person.

According to him, the desperation to meet up with the expectations of such contests could result in anxiety which in turn could lead to a host of psychological problems including depression and incoherence.

Sociologist, Damiete George, told Saturday PUNCH that except factors pushing individuals to engage in bets capable of claiming their lives were addressed, the trend might continue to be on the increase across the country.

“The underlying factor fuelling such insane bets is usually poverty and the deprivation it subjects people to. If you look at it critically, you’ll realise that these guys don’t really enjoy consuming all that alcohol, they only do it because of the gains attached to such bets which, in my opinion, isn’t worth the risk, torture and trauma they subject themselves to.

“Our society as it is has made survival very difficult for majority of her citizens and so any little avenue to get food on the table, people rush at it without necessarily minding the risk. But if issues fuelling hunger and extreme deprivation can be critically addressed, not many people would want to risk their lives for paltry rewards by engaging in bets that can claim their lives,” he said.

Oyinfade, the latest victim of this disturbing phenomenon, has since been buried in his native Abeokuta. His young wife and two little sons must continue their journey without him. It is a sad tale for the entire household.

I Don’t Mind Dating Falz – Simi

There is no denying the musical chemistry between Falz and Simi and we’ve seen it in Simi’s “Jamb Question”, Falz’s “Soldier” and with their stage performances too.

But the two artists have repeatedly stated that their chemistry doesn’t go beyond music.

In his recent interview with NdaniTV’s Dorcas Shola Fapson on The Juice, Falz revealed that Simi has a boyfriend but he isn’t the one. In this interview with HipTV, Simi reinforces that even though she wouldn’t mind dating Falz it will have to be in another life.

She also talks about the concept of her “Love Don’t Care” music video, her upcoming projects and more.

Watch below.

She said, “I don’t mind dating Falz, he’s a human being. When I say we have not thought about it because why would you be thinking about something that is not in the books. Falz is my friend and that is all there is to it.”

He called on ICT users in Nigeria to build capacities of their staff to mitigate against attacks as obtained during the 2015 elections when the Independent National Electoral Commission website was attacked.

Another Flight Disappearance..

Another Flight Disappearance...

EgyptAir Flight 804 vanished from radar on its way from Paris to Cairo with 66 people aboard, the airline said Thursday.
The plane was flying at 37,000 feet when it lost contact overnight above the Mediterranean Sea, the airline tweeted.
The flight left Charles de Gaulle Airport at 11:09 p.m. Wednesday local time and was supposed to land in Cairo at 3:15 a.m. Thursday. Both the departure and arrival cities are in the same time zone.
The location of last contact was 173 miles (280 kilometers) from the Egyptian coast, the airline tweeted.

Rescued Chibok girl says 6 of her classmates died

Amina Nkeki, the Chibok schoolgirl who was rescued around Sambisa forest on Tuesday, has revealed that six of her colleagues died in captivity.
The girl, who was reportedly found breast feeding a child, said their captors shielded them from the military.
According to Tunji Olarenwaju, a member of the strategic team of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, Nkeki made the revelations under interrogation.
“She is already breastfeeding a child. She said all of them are still in Sambisa forest, that six were already dead. She added that they are well secured and protected from the Nigerian army. She has been talking to troops at Damboa after verifying her to the Chibok Community at home,” Olanrewaju told TheCable.
Olanrewaju said the chairman of the association of Chibok parents affirmed the identity of the girl.
The news of her release became public exactly 765 days after 276 students were abducted from their school.
While 57 managed to escape, the whereabouts of 217 had been unknown all along.
At some point, some of their parents lost hope, but a proof of life video released by CNN on the second anniversary of their abduction rekindled hope.

Ho! The Lovely Sun Smiles

Ho! The Lovely Sun Smiles

 By Morounfolu D. Kayode

What a beautiful day
smiling as the sun
with a lot to achieve
all lost in the smile of the precious sun
Up above the sky it lies
hard times when at its peak
always lonely until evening
when an assistant comes around
just to relief the gallant smiling sun
Now it asks a question
day by day, smiling upon the earth
for the survival of a voluminous task
i mean a never ending one
here come the question?
wouldn't the lovely smiling sun rest.

Handless 7-Year-Old Girl Wins Handwriting Contest

Handless 7-Year-Old Girl Wins Handwriting Contest

A seven-year-old student born without hands has won a US national handwriting contest.
Anaya Ellick from Chesapeake, Virginia, does not use prosthetics. To write, she stands to get the proper angle, holding a pencil between her arms.
Her principal, Tracy Cox from Greenbrier Christian Academy, describes her as an "inspiration".
"She does not let anything get in the way of doing what she has set out to do," says Ms Cox.
"She is a hard worker and has some of the best handwriting in her class."
The girl reportedly beat 50 other competitors to get the special-needs category prize at the National Handwriting Contest.
This category rewards students with an intellectual, physical, or developmental disability.
Competition director Kathleen Wright told ABC News that her "writing sample was comparable to someone who had hands".
This is what her winning entry looked like:

Sponsors of the contest Zaner-Bloser said they planned to award each student $1,000 (£690).
They tweeted a picture of the student, happily holding her trophy.

Having no hands was also not an obstacle to 30-year-old pilot Jessica Cox.
In 2013, we reported on her inspirational example. Also born without hands, she has been able to drive a car, fly a plane and play piano - all with her feet.

Nigerian Appreciates Woman For The Visa To America She Granted Him 32 Years Ago

This short interesting story is just a remainder that we live in a small world... According to the United State Dept, in 1984 Assistant Secretary Linda Thomas-Greenfield was serving as a Consular Officer in Lagos, Nigeria, when an artist named Tunde Odunlade came to her window seeking a visa to the United States.

Thirty-two years later in Washington, DC, Mr. Odunlade recognized the Assistant Secretary when they were both panelists for a discussion on the Chibok girls in America.

He recently visited her at the U.S. Department of State and he brought along some of his artwork. He also thanked her for approving his visa three decades ago.

Sweet Reminiscense

Sweet Reminiscense

By Michael Babatunde

I've missed those days,
those good milky days,
when people wonder the way
as kids, we question and things we say.

gone where those days of momma's pamperings,
days we wry others with our screaming,
days of being so tiny,
i recall those days and cant help but keep smiling.

the days of the off-key harmony,
in the nursery rhymes.
the days of innocence,
when all we did was nonsense.

bring back those days,
maybe we can still make hay,
make up for our mistakes,
and in this new age have better stakes.

missed those days of momma's numerous spankings,
for havoc done to household items.
the days of myths held real,
even Nigeria's 99-1 defeat to India.

those day of waiting for the appearance and disappearance of the moon,
listening tenderly to moonlight tales.
the days i played hero,
trying to emulate characters from home videos.

the days of catching fun,
even from others' painful moments,
those days are gone.

David Cameron Calling Nigeria Fantastically Corrupt Country

David Cameron Calling Nigeria Fantastically Corrupt Country

British Prime Minister David Cameron, was caught on camera telling the Queen on Tuesday that leaders of some "fantastically corrupt" countries, including Nigeria and Afghanistan, were due to attend his anti-corruption summit.

The Prime Minister will host an international anti-corruption summit on Thursday aimed at stepping up global action to combat corruption in all walks of life. In a video feed made available to ITV News, Cameron was shown talking with the Queen about the summit.

Cameron approached the Queen and said: "We had a very successful cabinet meeting this morning, talking about our anti-corruption summit. We have got the Nigerians - actually we have got some leaders of some fantastically corrupt countries coming to Britain."

He then added: "Nigeria and Afghanistan - possibly two of the most corrupt countries in the world."

The Queen did not respond to Cameron's comment but the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said: "But this particular president is actually not corrupt," referring to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari.
President Buhari and Afghan President Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who are both planning to attend the summit, have acknowledged corruption in their countries and have pledged to clean it up.

Only North Korea and Somalia, jointly ranked 167th, are perceived to be more corrupt. Nigeria is 136th in the index. It was not clear whether Mr Cameron realised he was being filmed at the Buckingham Palace event.

Full text of Tiwa Savage’s interview on crash of her marriage

Tiwa and TJ
With the recent outburst of your husband on Instagram, why are you just about to respond to the allegations?
The honest truth is I was in my bedroom when my friend walked into the room with a couple of other people and woke me up; and basically just started narrating what had happened. When someone wakes you up from sleep you… The honest truth, my first thought was I thought maybe they found him dead.
When they said they didn’t know where he was, my thought was, and everybody’s thought was, we need to find him. He’s suicidal, we need to find him, we need to make sure he’s alive and he’s well. So, my initial thought was not… I didn’t even know what he had said. It was just ‘Let’s find him, let’s make sure that he’s okay and he’s alive’. So I couldn’t respond to anything because I didn’t even know the extent of what he had said till much later. Someone actually took my phone away from me. They didn’t want me to see what was said online. I was just scared for his life. I was just panicking.
At what point did you find out that he was okay and that nothing is wrong with him?
At about 10-11, we got a call. We were in my bedroom – Banky’s mum came and she was praying, we were all praying. I know that his family in LA were praying as well. About 10-11am, we got the call that he’s been found on Lekki bridge and at least he was safe. He was, I believe in Banky’s house, and he was okay.
I remember very well 2 years ago we were all in Dubai for your wedding ceremony and yesterday was supposed to be you anniversary. I saw on Instagram you posted videos of you guys celebrating your new single which was trending yesterday, TJ wasn’t there. At what point did all these events started?
My marriage and relationship has been very public and at one point I decided that I didn’t want to make it public anymore so I’m always nervous when it comes to his birthday because if I post, they read meaning to it. If I don’t then they’ll say we’ve broken up or there is a problem in our relationship.
In this case I knew the anniversary was coming and I was either going to post or not, but the honest truth is that for the past two months, TJ and I have not been together. And it was something that we were trying to work through but for me I knew that this marriage wasn’t going to work. It’s been like that for the past two months, I didn’t know if I should post and keep up appearances or if I should face reality.
Did he try to contact you on your anniversary?
I haven’t spoken to TJ in about a week now, he had left the house. We were supposed to get some documents for my son, his passport actually. So I was calling TJ on Sunday night because the interview was on Monday and he had booked the interview for Jam Jam online, so I wanted to know the time and other details but he was reading the messages and he wasn’t responding.
I remember I sent a message that reads, ‘TJ please let’s at least be friends and good parents to Jamil and whatever is going on between us please let’s do this for Jamil’, but he still didn’t respond, so I left it and I know one day we’ll apply for his passport.
At what point did you realize the marriage won’t work?
I have covered up for a lot of hurt in our relationship. I was in Jamaica recently and just before I went to Jamaica, I found out that I was pregnant again. We both discussed it and tried to figure out how to manage the situation, because it was another baby so soon. So I went to London and got on a 10-hour flight to Jamaica to shoot a video with Busy Signal.
But on the morning we were supposed to shoot the video, while I was doing my make-up, I started bleeding uncontrollably, so I started panicking and I called TJ. I took pictures and sent it to him, they rushed me to the hospital, I had complications but I still couldn’t reach him, so Thompson who was with me, had to help me sign all the documents in the hospital.
So I got discharged from the hospital and still tried to call TJ to let him know what happened because he didn’t call to see how I was or know what happened.
I got back to Nigeria and while we were sleeping, his phone was going off and it was middle of the night and I kept on seeing the name calling him ‘Edible Catering’. And it didn’t make sense because why would a catering company be calling my husband at that time of the night and yes as a woman, I picked up his phone and I went through his phone got into his Whatsapp and there’s this long conversation with this same ‘Edible’ number.
And I’m seeing stuff like ‘Can we meet at the hotel tonight’, ‘Do you live alone’, and ‘Is it ok if I come by’. The last message I saw was, ‘I had to leave at 7am today because you were still sleeping’. Then he responded saying, ‘Yea because you knocked me out last night, it was a great night’.
So obviously I woke him up and was like what’s going on, and he said to me, it’s not what I think. Then I asked if all these happened on our bed, then he said no it was at a hotel but nothing happened that they were just chilling.
The thing that hurt me the most was that this happened while I was in Jamaica in a hospital and I was sending him pictures but he didn’t bother to respond because he was chilling with another woman in a hotel room.
At that point, I packed my stuff, I took my son and I went to my friend’s house, her name is Tiwa as well, I stayed the night there and she asked me one question, ‘What’s the next step?’. And I said to her, ‘I’m done’.
Has he been cheating on you before now?
I don’t think we have enough time to cover that, I don’t even know where to start or which one to say first. I’ve covered up for so long because I wanted people to believe this story that TJ is the head of the house, he’s the one that takes care of me, a loving husband, I wanted people to believe that and I wanted him to feel like a man, so I covered up so many times.
Since my son has been born, TJ has not spent one naira. I paid for the hospital bills, I paid for his flight to come to London, I paid for the apartment we stayed for two months, the clothes, the nursery, the grocery. Even when we were in London we didn’t just go shopping for my son, we shopped for TJ as well so that when we come back to Nigeria he’ll have new things because his excuse most times is, ‘I don’t have money, I don’t have money…’
So I try to pay for everything because I have to pay for everything, otherwise where would we be? So at least he can go out to hustle or focus on the contracts he’s looking for. And he’ll still tell me he doesn’t have money to buy diapers but he has money to get haircut twice a week, he has money to do laundry, he has money to take women to hotel rooms.
teebillz1

Is it possible that you do everything for him but still don’t respect him as a husband?
That’s a lie! I’m not going to sit here and lie to you that every time I come home I cook… and I’m not going to make excuses and say it’s because of my career that’s why I’m busy. I’m the same person that works and puts money in the house, I’m the same person that works long hours to make sure we have a roof over our heads. I come home late most times and very tired, sometimes I’m out of the country. There’s no time that I come downstairs to make something to eat and I don’t make for TJ and because I know what my schedule is, I had to hire a cook and I don’t think there’s anything wrong in that. Most times he leaves home and doesn’t come back till 7am at times 2pm the following day, so how am I supposed to cook for someone that’s not in the house?
You come back drunk, angry; we were living on eggshells because we never know what mood he’ll be in. At times I even pray that he’s with another woman, so that way I know he’s still alive and has not gotten drunk in an accident or something else.
When you sacked him as your manager, what job did he start doing?
I’ll never discredit or take away the fact that TJ hustled for me; I’ll never deny that he worked hard for me or that he believed in me. But the first time I realized there was foul play was a time when he booked me for a wedding in London and our company policy is that you don’t go for a show till you’ve been fully paid. So I got to London already and I called the accountant to confirm if payment has been made and she was like they still haven’t paid o, so I called TJ again and said these people haven’t paid and he said ‘no its fine, just go, just go and perform don’t worry everything is fine’.
Fortunately for me, I know one of the organizers, I pulled him aside and was like, ‘bros what’s going on, why haven’t you guys paid’, and he was like, ‘what are you talking about, we’ve paid about  four months ago’ and we tried to confirm and realized they paid into TJ’s personal account and not company account. Then the other thing was TJ would declare that they paid N3m meanwhile they paid N4.5m, and out of the N3M he’s still receiving his management fee of 40%. So you are basically stealing from your wife and he doesn’t feel anything. So I had to perform at the wedding for free because TJ had already squandered the money.
He also accused your mum of ‘witchcraft’?
Tiwa's mom, Cecilia Savage with David Beckham
My mum is based in the UK and when I had Jamil she moved back to Nigeria with us. If anyone has ever met my mother, she’s not like that. She’s a sweet lady, she’s very British so she doesn’t hang up on traditions and she doesn’t judge. Infact a lot of times my mum will say to me, ‘Tiwa you are the wife, be patient, don’t shout, don’t curse, a woman builds the home.’
Whenever we have issues, TJ always runs to tell my mum and she always calms him down so she’s been nothing but a great support for me. So I’ll love for him to tell me if there’s something that my mother has done because I have no idea.
How about his allegations that you slept with Don Jazzy, Dr Sid and 2face?

Don-Jazzy
I would say for the record, I have never cheated on my husband. Not with Don Jazzy, not with Dr Sid, not with 2face or anybody, and I’m willing to take a lie detector test for that. And he knows it in his heart.
(Crying) this really hurts. I’m not going to pretend like I’ve not read comments and what people are saying about me, it hurts. And it’s not true.
So what do you think drove him to attempt suicide?
I know that for any human being, when your finances are not straight, you’ll be depressed and be bothered. So I know that for a while, since he stopped working for me as my manager, he’s been struggling financially, but that wasn’t my fault. I loved when we were working together and everybody loved us, but he messed up by starting to steal from me and being fraudulent, so I had no choice. I wanted to save my marriage by separating the business from the home, but TJ loves to keep up with the life, he wants to live a life that’s not true without a steady income. He went to buy a car that he knew he couldn’t afford, and I ended up paying the balance of about N3M and he says I took away his manhood because he doesn’t want people to know am the breadwinner.
teebillz-and-tiwa-612x300
As a woman I want him to be the breadwinner too, and that’s why I put the balance of the car in his account so they’ll think it’s coming from him and not me.
He also went to buy a Rolex watch and he still couldn’t pay up the balance and so they called me and because I don’t want it to get out in the press (people have threatened me with that before) so I always find a way to put the money in his account so he can pay off the debt.
He keeps on putting us in debt all the time. He goes out to the clubs with women, spend money on drinks, leaves without paying and the club owner would call me and I’ll end up going to pay.
The last one that happened that I think really triggered this whole thing was that he went to borrow N45m from someone and he’s lost the money. I just found out. I was in the studio recording and got a call that EFCC is investigating that TJ is in big trouble that people may hurt him. So in my frantic move to try and suppress the situation no one could help raise the N45m he went to borrow.
Or should we talk about the fact that I walked in on him taking cocaine in my house when we were still leaving in 1004 then. It was just after we got married and I didn’t even know he does cocaine, only to walk into the kitchen and saw him snuffing. I screamed TJ!!! And he quickly hid it and he started screaming at me!
So the first thing I did was call his parents.
So I’m dealing with alcohol problems, the fact that you come home late, infidelity, cocaine, debts, and a husband that’s jealous of his wife’s success.
Didn’t you see these coming before you got married?
Tiwa and TJ
It’s a combination of everything; I didn’t know about the cocaine, I didn’t know about his third child in Nigeria apart from the two abroad that he tells everyone. I won’t say I didn’t see signs, even a lot of people warned me about the type of person TJ is, but I made a mistake and I’m not ashamed to say it at this point.
Now that I’ve made a mistake, do I want to wait 10 years or 15 years? If you are not happy you can leave and I was scared will I ever find somebody, will I ever find happiness, will I ever find someone else to marry me?
I don’t care at this point if I never get married again. All I care about now is being happy for Jamil. I care about being strong; I care about not walking on eggshells.
And you know what? I do want a man that works, that can help me financially. Not saying he has to be a millionaire or billionaire, but somebody that can help or at least not put me in more debt.
Has he ever physically assaulted you?
No, and I’ll never play that victim card. But it was a mentally abusive relationship because all I hear everyday is how he made me, how he did this and that for me, I created you, I took you from nothing. He didn’t find me in a dustbin.
What’s the status of the marriage now?
It’s finally over. It’s been over for a while and I’ve covered up for a while. I think what happened is God sent because he’s made it easy for me to walk away because of what he did on social media because he got so many people angry, he called so many innocent names, he dragged many people including his own family. So if I was to consider to make it work a lot of people will warn me that if it happens again I can’t come back crying. So he’s made it easy for me to finally walk away.
Tiwa-Savage-x-Baby-1
I’ll never stop him from seeing Jamil, never! But the only thing I’ll promise myself is to bring up my son to be a good man
Till now I don’t wish anything bad on him, even when he was abusing me. First I was and still I’m concerned about him because I’m worried he might see this interview and trigger something else or lead him to do something bad but I don’t wish that for him.
Tonight I’m still going to pray for him. If I didn’t care about him or his well-being, I won’t have covered up for him for this long and even now I’m still helping him find a way out from his debt.
But if there’s anything that I’ve overlooked to Tunji, I’m absolutely sorry. If have done anything wrong to neglect you or not make you feel like a man, Tunji I’m sorry and you know I tried everything, you know I love you so much and I’m sorry. I never wanted to divorce and I never wanted it to come to this and I want him to get better. I’m not just saying it for the camera but I’ll always pray for him!

Code of  Conduct Tribunal: Paul Erokoro Blasts FG ‘For Wasting Tribunal’s Time’

A mild drama took place at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, on Tuesday as a counsel to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Paul Erokoro lambasted Federal Government’s lawyer for insisting that only one counsel should be allowed to cross examine a witness.
Saraki is standing trial on a 16-count charge of false assets declaration.

Erokoro said this while reacting to the submission of Federal Government’s lawyer, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, who condemned the trend where more than one defence lawyer keep cross-examining a particular witness.

Since the cross-examination of the principal witness, Michael Wetkas, who is an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, two different defence counsels have cross examined the witness, this the prosecution frowns at.

Jacobs contended that only the lead defence, counsel, Kanu Agabi, SAN, is bound to conclude cross examination which he started, adding that a situation where other lawyers in a team cross examines a single witness is unacceptable.

“This will make the proceedings endless, if one counsel is called he should conclude it.”

“Only the lead counsel can speak on behalf of the defendant,” Jacobs said.

But contending with the prosecution’s submission, Paul Orokoro, SAN, said the defendant has the right to be represented by as many counsels as possible.

This brought about wild cheers from people seated in the tribunal hall.

Orokoro said, “There is no law backing my learned friend’s submission, a counsel is entitled to as many lawyers as possible.

“The defence cannot always ask for an adjournment because one counsel is tired.”

Orokoro argued that the defence will take its time to cross examine the witness based on the evidence presented before the tribunal.

“The evidence presented before the tribunal is over 1,500 in pages and we are going take our time to do what is right.

“The prosecution had just succeeded in wasting the time of the tribunal,” Erokoro asserted.

Meanwhile, the proceedings continues…
