Code of  Conduct Tribunal: Paul Erokoro Blasts FG ‘For Wasting Tribunal’s Time’

A mild drama took place at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, on Tuesday as a counsel to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Paul Erokoro lambasted Federal Government’s lawyer for insisting that only one counsel should be allowed to cross examine a witness.
Saraki is standing trial on a 16-count charge of false assets declaration.

Erokoro said this while reacting to the submission of Federal Government’s lawyer, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, who condemned the trend where more than one defence lawyer keep cross-examining a particular witness.

Since the cross-examination of the principal witness, Michael Wetkas, who is an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, two different defence counsels have cross examined the witness, this the prosecution frowns at.

Jacobs contended that only the lead defence, counsel, Kanu Agabi, SAN, is bound to conclude cross examination which he started, adding that a situation where other lawyers in a team cross examines a single witness is unacceptable.

“This will make the proceedings endless, if one counsel is called he should conclude it.”

“Only the lead counsel can speak on behalf of the defendant,” Jacobs said.

But contending with the prosecution’s submission, Paul Orokoro, SAN, said the defendant has the right to be represented by as many counsels as possible.

This brought about wild cheers from people seated in the tribunal hall.

Orokoro said, “There is no law backing my learned friend’s submission, a counsel is entitled to as many lawyers as possible.

“The defence cannot always ask for an adjournment because one counsel is tired.”

Orokoro argued that the defence will take its time to cross examine the witness based on the evidence presented before the tribunal.

“The evidence presented before the tribunal is over 1,500 in pages and we are going take our time to do what is right.

“The prosecution had just succeeded in wasting the time of the tribunal,” Erokoro asserted.

Meanwhile, the proceedings continues…

Olajumoke-1
Sunday Orisaguna has opened up his wife’s new found fame amidst expressed views that her new found fame might cause a strain on her 6 year marriage to the father of her two children.
Sunday, an artisan, has come out to affirm that she will ‘continue to be a good wife’ in spite of her new found fame.
Speaking to Encomium magazine in a recent interview, Sunday said he trusts her because she stuck with him during their trying times.
According to him, “I am not afraid because when we had nothing, she was always there. If I said I needed this, she would give me. I am not afraid. If she is rich today, we both own it. I trust her for that. She has been a very good wife. I believe she will continue to be good.” Sunday told the magazine.
On how he feels about Olajumoke’s modeling job, he said: “Yes, I like it. I am really excited about it.”
He also revealed he had to woo Olajumoke for 6 months before she agreed to ‘befriend him’.
“She came to greet her grandma in my area some years back. She came from Lagos. She went to her mother’s younger sister, who introduced her to hairdressing. I used to go to where she was learning hairdressing to toast her but she insisted that she came to learn hairdressing and not to befriend a man. I used to go there often and after six months, she said yes, that was how it all started.

14 CHILDREN FOR 14 DIFFERENT FATHERS

BIZARRE!!!!!!!!

14 CHILDREN FOR 14 DIFFERENT FATHERS

A Woman from Michigan gave birth to her 14th child for 14 Different Fathers.
According to the internationally recognized authority on the cataloguing and verification of world records, Anita Sullivan has just become the first woman in recorded history to conceive children with more than thirteen different men.
She said:
“I’m extremely proud to have broken a World Record,” Ms. Sullivan told reporters. “My mother always told me that I was lazy and worthless, and that I would never accomplish anything in my life. Now, I’ve shown everyone that she was wrong, and that I can even be the best in the world when I put my mind to something. In fact, I’ve just accomplished something that no one had done before!”
Anita Sullivan says she’s been unlucky with relationships in the past, but she believes that this time she may have found the man of her life.
“I’m good at having babies, but I’m really awful when it comes to picking the fathers of my children,” says the young woman. “This time, however, I think I’ve learned from my past mistakes. Ramón isn’t like all the jerks I’ve dated before. We’ve been together for almost a year and a half, and I really believe it could work between us.”
